Meet the Connections Staff

Meg G. Mekelburg

Meg G. Mekelburg is Director of Howard County CONNECTIONS and oversees the day-to-day operations of the Center. Meg is the co-founder of Individual Differences in Learning (IDL), a non profit organization that supports children with learning disabilities and ADHD. Representing IDL, Meg has worked closely with the Howard County School System to develop programs for teacher education, and provide support for students and their families. Meg has received a BA in psychology from Syracuse University and an MBA from the University of Maryland.

Patricia A. Heineman

Pat Heineman is a trainer for Howard County CONNECTIONS. She assists in the development and facilitation of the parent outreach component of the initiative. Pat has experience in Community and School Health Education with nine years experience as a High School teacher in Baltimore and Carroll County. She is a former adjunct instructor at Towson University and Howard Community College in the Health Science and Sociology Departments, respectively.

Pat currently holds a Maryland’s State Teacher’s Certificate in School and Community Health Education with a Master’s Degree in Health Administration from Towson University.
